ABOUT

LaVanda works primarily in cyanotype printmaking, painting, drawing, and mixed media. Found objects, everyday non-art items, reusable and recyclable things are her preferred materials to make assemblages, and cyanotype prints on paper and canvas. She uses these various found objects as her mark-making tools to engage with viewers and draw attention to our relationship with the natural world and to broadly represent various themes of the human condition. From her home studio in Rochester, Minnesota, she exposes her cyanotype prints either with indoor UV lamps or outside in the backyard with the sun.
