Although this show isn't open to the general public, the incredible residents at Mayo Clinic Charter House retirement living community will have 3 months to engage with my artwork at their corridor gallery space, Parkside Art Gallery. This show is made up entirely of my cyanotype work on various types of fabric and canvas. I made many of the pieces here in Rochester, but a handful of work was made while I lived in Grenada, West Indies. None of the work has been shown before. My work ranges from pure abstraction to figurative imagery, yet every piece is unified by its captivating blue tones—ranging from faded dusty hues to deep saturated Prussian blues, sometimes light cerulean, and occasionally accented by rust, green, brown, or purple. I embrace imperfection to invite curiosity, encouraging viewers to explore, unafraid, of what is seen as ‘different’ or ‘other’. My pieces serve as time-stamped imprints, capturing memories and the intricate relationship between humans and our environment, whether through natural elements or repurposed materials.
